GAME: TOSS UP

Toss Up was an interesting year with the two different-sized scoring objects (balls) on the field and the scoring zones separated by passable barriers. An adaptable intake was key to being successful in this game. To solve this challenge, we developed an intake with long rollers that could intake both the large and small balls. To reduce the time needed for scoring, we also developed a pneumatic catapult that could shoot the large balls into the scoring zone.

Finally, there was the high lifting bar. We developed a simple hook on the top of our robot that would fit around the high lift bar. The simplicity of the mechanism allowed us to easily re-enforce the build to hold the weight of our entire robot. To improve the reliability and reduce the danger of our robot falling, we also built a pneumatic mechanism to lock the robot in the hanging position. The build quality and reliability of our robot allowed us to qualify for Worlds and place top-20 in our division
