I am Eric, an eighth grader at Odle Middle school in Bellevue, Washington. When I was 5 years old, I got my first Lego set. With it, I could build creations, take them apart, and put them back together. However, once my friend Gabriel exposed Lego’s robotics Mindstorms kit to meto me, I fell in love with robotics. I then joined Gabriel’s team at the age of 7, and participated in the First Lego League. During the 5 years of competition in the FLL league, we built hundreds of contraptions, each achieving a different purpose. The other reason why I enjoyed FLL was the project. The project involved a scientific problem, and required us to solve it. Throughout the process of creating the project, I increased my knowledge and enhanced my problem-solving skills. In our first year, we won Washington State Championship, and won first place in project at the World Championship. Two years ago our team joined VEX for a deeper robotics experience. Both programing and building were much more complex in VEX than in FLL, which helped me learn more or smth like that. I mainly work as a builder for the team. Throughout my robotics experience, I learned many different ways of building and attaching pieces. I am able to create a multitude of tools, for a multitude of tasks. As a person, I love to create, build, and craft, and building robots quenches that thirst. When I am not building robots, I am playing tennis, videogames, or piano.
