I am 17 years old, currently a freshman at the University of Washington. I have been a part of the WASABI team for just over one year, with no previous robotics experience. I decided to join a robotics team because I have always liked the idea of engineering something from scratch and having it perform well. Although the applications for the robots we make in the VEX competitions may not have many real-life applications, I am certain that the skills we gain from it will be extremely helpful in pursuing engineering related careers. For the most part of the Skyrise season, I worked primarily on the 1492X bot. Outside of robotics, I enjoy playing tennis, programming, and reading.
