We as a team have been unbelievably privileged to be able to compete, build, learn, and grow with little impeding our efforts. We know that not all of our peers have the same circumstances. Keep scrolling to see our efforts to give back in our community (and those abroad!)

WASABI IN THE PHILLIPINES
MANILA
WASABI in Manila has been our flagship project. We were inspired to start encouraging robotics there after a trip there. We specifically saw that kids, just like us, in underprivileged areas didn’t have access to all the opportunities to learn, build, and grow as we had. In efforts to bridge this gap, we decided to partner with YoungFocus, and organization that helps underprivileged schools in the heart of Manila.

Want to help?
Every summer since 2009, we have gone out to the Robinson Center at our local University of Washington to host quick camps and seminars on building rockets that we launch at the end of the week. Check it out!
SUMMER CAMPS
As part of the University of Washington’s K-12 outreach at the Robinson Center, we run a summer camp for younger children on building rockets. Through these seminars we like to promote the engineering process and inspire students to build and grow.
SPACE ELEVATOR CHALLENGE
Every summer, for a couple weeks we invite the youth in our community to participate in the space elevator challenge. In this annual tournament, the Boeing Museum of Flight invites students to build robots that simulate carrying satellites into orbit.
