My name is Surya Cidambi. Here’s my brief background:

  • I have been involved in robotics for the past 9 years and am interested in pursuing a career in Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls Engineering.
  • I have participated in a wide variety of projects related to these topics such as:building an electric car, developing a kite to generate electricity, as well as winning Imagine Tomorrow, a science fair, for a transportation infrastructure proposal which utilizes mass transit to reduce congestion and CO2 emissions while providing profits to the city.
  • I have taught robotics classes at University of Washington, Robinson Center for middle school and high school students.
  • For my Eagle Scout project (that’s right, I’m ALSO a boy scout), I am conducting a workshop on robotics at a Christian school in South Seattle
  • I have participated in 2 internships about robotics. One at Genie Industries through my high school, and one at MTAB Engineers in India.

Now after that boring stuff, I am a funny, and confident person, who, as I am constantly reminded, am awful at communicating my ideas. I am tall, with, on a good day, curly, shaggy hair (hence my coach “affectionately” calling me “Q-Tip”) and very talkative. I love robotics and am often the last one to leave, partially because my parents arrive two hours late, but mostly because I love the art!
